The remain ammonia Wastewater is the main discharge of coke plant. It must be treated before its discharge so as to prevent the environmental pollution. Because of the high concentration of ammonia and nitrogen in ammonia Wastewater, ammonia distillation is necessary before biochemical treatment of the Wastewater. By ammonia distillation treatment, the concentration of ammonia in the Wastewater decreases. In this paper, the energy-saving process of steam ammonia distillation technology was mainly studied to solve the high steam consumption problem of Baosteel Company's third ammonia distillation process. This can provide reference and guidance to Baosteel Company's energy-saving technological transformation.Firstly, the simulation software, Aspen Plus, was used to simulate the process of Baosteel Company's third ammonia distillation. The simulation results were similar to the practice, the relative error was controlled in the range of 5%. So it is feasible to study the ammonia distillation technology by simulation method.Compared with the traditional techniques, the negative-pressure ammonia distillation has many advantages, such as well energy-saving efficiency, low corrosion, uneasy plugging of the distillation tower and so on. Under the condition of 50kPa, the steam consumption reduced to 94.3kg/t(氨水), saving the direct steam amounts 16%. Because this technology has high requirements for materials and equipments, some key points must be solved before its industrial application.The energy-saving ammonia distillation's direct steam consumption decreased to 89kg/t(ammonia water), saving the direct steam amounts 22%. The jet flash technology recycled the steam and low temperature heat.The alkali adding position of the ammonia distillation tower is optimized to the 18th floor to improve the energy-saving efficiency.On the foundation of the study above, the technological transformation of the Baosteel Company's third ammonia distillation process was gained.
