In order to further study the blue and green visible band up-conversion emission mechanism of rare earth-doped material, the different host glass of oxyfluoride crystallite glasses were prepared by conventional melting method. The best melting temperature and annealing temperature were determined by analysing of differential thermal analysis curve. The absorption spectrum and up-conversion fluorescence emission spectrum pumped by 980nm LD were measured, and the relationship between up-conversion luminescence intensity and LD pump power were studied. At the same time, the Raman spectrum and SEM of the sample were analysed. The result showed that: the red light up-conversion mechanism of Yb3+/Er3+ co-doped oxyfluoride aluminum borate glasses is three-photon process; the green light upconversion mechanism of Yb3+/Er3+ co-doped oxyfluoride aluminum borate glasses. However, in other glass systems such as Yb3+/Ho3+ co-doped oxyfluoride aluminum borate glasses, Yb3+/Er3+ co-doped oxyfluoride silicate glass and Yb3+/Er3+co-coped oxyfluoride germinate glass system, correspongding red light and green light up-conversion mechanism are all two-photon process. At the same time, the introducing of fluoride can reduce the phonon energy and improve the luminous efficiency of glass system effectively.
