In this paper, computer simulation technology was used to design the automotive panel stamping die, to a certain extent, to improve accuracy of the domestic automobile panel forming, shorten the development cycle of mold design and lower cost of sheet.All the status quo and development trend of the sheet metal forming simulation, stamping FEM theory, automobile coverage forming characteristics and common defects and prevention measures are mentioned. The FEM of the door of the car trunk which is a typical component is established. In addition stamping parameters were designed with orthogonal design method.The experimental results show: when the automotive panel forming, the effect of BHF and punching speed on the quality of products is greater than that of space and punch and die drawbead high on quality of the product. In detail the greater are BHF and the speed of the ram the smaller is the local thickness of product. What is more, the breakdown which takes place in the process forming auto lifegate is caused by two-way tensile strain rupture.Moreover the sheet will be broken when BHF exceed 2*1100KN while the sheet would be wrinkled up when BHF was less than 2*900KN. The general parameters of optimal process liftgate deep drawing and structural Surface composition are that BHF is 2*1000KN,drawbead height is 6mm, stamping speed of 100mm/s and the punch and die space is 0.88mm.
