In this thesis,the factors affected the efficiency of H2S purificaiton were researched by comparing the performance of different fillers and taking a experimental study. As the results,the operating parameters range in the industrial application were set.Ceramsite,plastics pall and cascade ring were choosed to take further experimental studies by comparing the different types and materials fillers. To compare the performance of this three fillers on the bio-trickling filter,the contrast were taken from the following aspects: 1) Physical properties such as specific surface area,porosity and fillers factors etc. The results revealed that this three fillers had their own advantages.2) Bio-film holding ability. The results indicated that all three fillers had short periods of domestication and bio-film holding. Because the material of pall and cascade ring was plastics and had bad wettability,correspondingly, ceramsite had shortest bio-film holding time.3 ) Effect of H2S purificaiton.The three analyzed bio-trickling filters were activated at the same time, then the H2S was inputed to the filter and the concentration of H2S in the outlet was detected.The results showed that ceramsite had best performance on H2S purificaiton and cascade ring was followed.So, ceramsite(Φ4~6mm) was selected as the packing of the bio-trickling filter(Φ80×H500mm) to purify H2S in this experiment by integrated comparisons.The experimental results showed that: 1) The purification efficiency was proportional to the residence time.75s was determined as the best residence time because the purification efficiency could't increase with no limits in fact;the removal efficiency declined with the increase of the inlet concentration(load) of H2S; the required height of packing layer increased with the inlet concentration of H2S.The removal efficiency could reach 85%, when the inlet concentration of H2S was 275.74mg/m3.At this point, only 350mm of the height of the packing layer was required. So we must design the height of packing layer according to the the inlet concentration of H2S and purification demand in practice. The filter had strong resistance to the shock of H2S, and could run sustainably and and efficiently. The problem about bed plug because of the excessive growth of bio-film was settled basically by spraying in time and quantity. 2) The operating parameters range in the industrial application under the conditions of this experiment were: the residence time not less than 75s;when initial H2S concentration below 485.79mg/m3 and the corresponding inlet load of H2S below 23.32 g/m3·h,the purification efficiency could maintain more than 80.6%. At this time, the removal volume load was 18.66g/m3·h.
