In this paper, the author prepared the ceramic coating on the Q235 and 1Cr18Ni9 by slurry process and thermochemical reaction method. The X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and mechanics analysis methods were performed to analyze the prepared technology, the organization structure, the thermal shock resistance, the corrosion resistance and the abrasion resistance. The investigated results indicated that the ceramic coating of the stainless steel matrix surface-layer was prepared by thermochemical reaction method were completely feasible. Based on serial experiments, Al2O3:MgO:SiO2:ZnO=6:2:1:1 was the best choice of ceramic coating, when the proportion of aggregate and aluminium phosphate bond was 0.5:1,the ceramic coating which nanometer alumina accounted for 15% had the excellent property. Its XRD analysis indicated that the solidified coating could make the new ceramic phase at the temperature 600℃,the binding forces of the ceramic coating and the matrix were enhanced. The result of scanning electron microscopy indicated the ceramic coating were dense and had network structure. Also, there were no obvious boundry between the coating and the matrix. And the binding strength between the coating and the matrix are very high. The tested results showed that the nano-scale composite ceramic coating improved the corrosion resistance and the abrasion resistance of the Q235 and 1Cr18Ni9.
