It has been reported that some of gold(I) complexes with phosphine ligands show liquid crystalline properties, or nonlinear optical (NLO) behavior, or rich luminescence properties, or photoluminescence properties, etc., in recent years. Some gold(I) complexes with sulfur and phosphorus donor ligands are active in medicine. In this work, a study on the synthesis, structures and characterization of gold complexes containing phosphine ligands with cobaltocenium backbone was systematically carried out. The main results are as follows:1. Three bis(chlorogold) complexes with cobaltoceniumyl bisphosphine 2-7, 2-8, 2-9 and three chlorogold complexes with cobaltoceniumyl monophosphine 2-10, 2-11, 2-12 were successfully synthesized. The structures for all these new compounds were fully characterized by elemental analysis, 1H NMR, 31P NMR.2. Two bis(phenylethynylgold) complexes with cobaltoceniumyl bisphosphine 3-1, 3-2 and two phenylethynylgold complexes with cobaltoceniumyl monophosphine 3-3, 3-4 were successfully synthesized. The structures for all these new compounds were fully characterized by elemental analysis, 1H NMR, 31P NMR. Complexe 3-1 is determined by X-ray diffraction techniques. We found that the anions of complexes 3-1 and 3-2 were diphenylethynylgold, while that of complexes 3-3 and 3-4 were PF6-.3 Seven gold thiolate complexes with cobaltoceniumyl phosphine were successfully synthesized. The structures for all these new compounds were fully characterized by elemental analysis, 1H NMR, 31P NMR. Complexe 4-4 is determined by X-ray diffraction techniques.
