The paper has reviewed the market development and related uses of piperazine. Based on the predecessor study on deamination of industrial ethylenediamine on normal pressure and on the basic principles of reaction engineering,the method,criteria and parameter of amplification is determined. Then monofactor method and multifactor orthogonalizing design method are applied to research the affections of the factors,,to calibrate the parameter,and to get the optimum processing conditions in preparation of piperazine. By means of the study on devitalized-catalyst to get the influence of the factor and the rate equation. Finally, the economic analysis on production of 300t/a piperazine was made on the basis of the results in the experiment.The following have been obtained through lots of experiments.1. At the optimal conditions of temperature and feed concentration,maintaining the best airspeed tested in predecessor study is the amplification criteria,and it is 0.0187mol·g-1·hr-1, it is the basic parameter of amplification.2. The optimum processing conditions: the concentration of EDA 40%(mass fraction); reaction temperature 360°C; space velocity 0.0187mol·g-1·hr-1. In these conditions, the conversition of EDA is 96.19%, the yield of PA is 61.98%, the yield of TEDA is 30.73% and the total is 92.71%.3. The study of devitalized-catalyst shows that the catalyst has a good quality on anti-cokeablity. The rate equation of coke is as follow:Vc=d(Cc%)/dt=-6E-07t2+2E-4t+0.00884. It is possible to synthesize piperazine using EDA as raw material. The economic analysis on production of 300t/a piperazine shows that the process has great social and economic benifits.
