In the field of ultrasonic testing for gear, there is not automatic ultrasonic testing technology for gears with middling and small modulus at the present time. Aiming at the inner defect of automobile shift gears in manufacturing, adopting ultrasonic testing technology, the automatic testing system for gears with middling and small modulus is developed, and the automatic detection technique for testing gears without scathe is provided.To analyze the status of ultrasonic testing technology for gears, according to the traits of gears with middling and small modulus, to design the framework of automatic ultrasonic testing system for gears with middling and small modulus. Ultrasonic is acted as signal source, adopting imaging technique which combined of A-scanning, B-scanning and C-scanning, and the method of immersing in liquid, scanning movement of ultrasonic testing gears is actualized in NC machine tool, automatic ultrasonic testing of gears with middling and small modulus is accomplished.Automatic Ultrasonic Testing technology is important content of the thesis. Automatic ultrasonic testing technique, ultrasonic testing craftwork, and scanning movement of ultrasonic testing gears with middling and small modulus are studied, testing system for gears with middling and small modulus is developed, the validity of this method is proved by experiment. According to the control request of testing system for gears, designed collectivity plan of the control system. the control card is developed by MCU and 8253 timer, and the method of designing the control card is put forward. In the end, to design the development flow, and program modules are developed.
