In this paper, research development and achievement are synthetically introduced. Thecauses of LPG tank inactivation which is in fire hazard environment are simply analysed fromtwo aspects, the inside factor (heat transfer and stress) and outside factor (fragment impact) ofthe tank, and do numerical simulation base on it with ANSYS and ANSYS LS-DYNA. Onthis condition, the effect of the parameters are analysed to aim at the two aspects, inside factorand outside factor, and the mechanism of the LPG tank failure are discussed simply. Thefollowing contents are studied in this dissertation.1. Heat transfer of LPG tank is analysed in fire environment, the process of heat transferis described by mathematical method from thinking factors of space and time synthetically.2. Three-dimensional model of spheric tank which is used in analysis and calculation isfounded by finite element method and thermal analysis module of ANSYS, and the effect ofthe parameters which act on heat transfer are analysed in different fire hazard environment.3. Base on thermal analysis with finite element method, the stress of spheric tank isanalysed with the method of thermal-structure coupling in the ANSYS software after thetransformation of temperature field and stress of the spheric tank which is heated is thoughtover synthetically.4. The outside factor (fragment impact) which lead tank failure in fire hazardenvironment is analysed, numerical simulation is done with ANSYS LS-DYNA and finite element method. The effect of fragment impact which lead tank inactivation is analysed indifferent condition. Design of safe distance among tanks is discussed simply and qualitativelybase on domino effect.5. The mechanism of the LPG tank failure in fire hazard environment is analysed, andthe method of precaution is suggested.
