Electrostatic Precipitator (E.P) is an environment protection equipment of large-scale steel structure, which is widespread used in many industry fields, such as: Electric Industry, Construction Material, Metallurgy and Chemical Industry etc. E. P. is important to protecting and improving environment, has significance means for strategy of sustainable development. Because the E. P. has a large volume and complication structure, the conventional design method is to greatly simplify the structure, and use a simple computation model to analyze, which is can't truly reflect the stress condition of the structure, but just to reduce the permissible stress to keep the safety of structure. So it caused blindness and conservatism while confirming the section of structure, caused enormously waste of materials.On the other hand, the E. P. itself has a huge volume, complication structure and working conditions, furthermore and the same time we hasn't pay enough attention to the design of E. P. structure, there has happened several accidents of E. P. structure caving-in, which should brings the structure designer to the attention..This theses recieved from the project of the electric precipitator structure safety assessment and optimization with Wuhan Kaidi Blue Sky Science & Technology CO. LTD. This theses adopted the finite element software—ANSYS to analyses the shell frame construction of E. P. To get a more precise analyses and calculation to make sure structure security and credibility. And for most purposes of optimization is to be on the precondition of guarantee strength of structure, stiffness and stability, to depress the steel consumption of the structure.The primary research coverage of this theses is:(1). Research the theory of finite element and the application of the finite element software in relity egineering: use the finite element software of ANSYS to analyse the steel structure of E. P., difiniting the finite element model of the E. P. and the load,constraint, and solve it. Do salty analysis the shell frame construction of E. P. both analyses structure's stress-strain status under multi-behavior coaction, to make sure the structure wether satisfaction strength, stiffness and stability's require.(2).Research the theory and method of the optimum structural design, on the basis of sturcture analysis of the E. P. Adopted the original project as the initial project, use the finite element software ANSYS to analyse the structure. That is to say: choosing a reasonable design variable, boundary function and objective function to optimise the section parameter of the structure, and at the precondition of guarantee the structure satisfy strength, stiffness and stability's require to depress the steel consumption, and stress distribution logical, thereby get the aim of depressing the steel consumption, enhance profite rate and competiveness of the product.
