A Study On The Wax Printing Manufacture Craft Of Miao Ethnic In Guangxi Longlin

This article uses the method of field investigation of anthropology, through a detail description of wax printing manufacture craft procedure of Miao ethnic (Pian Miao ) in Guangxi Longlin which includes the technical operation of drawing wax, the dying process, the manufacture of dying liquor as well as the manufacture of Chinese indigo and so on., to record Miao women's wisdom, rescue this traditional craft culture. And it conducts the comparison research with the Longlin wax printing adopted before the time of Implementing the opening policy in China, to demonstrate the current characteristic of Longlin wax printing craft ;It probes into the inheritance processes of Miao's wax printing craft on the view of female. Through these descriptions, the author find out that the inheritance of wax printing craft is closely correlated with the environment & traditional culture . The wax printing craft is playing an important role in the miao women's lives: it is the carrier of emotion and thought of them , the standard of weighing their intelligence, also the approvals of miao's feminine culture and the tribal grouping culture. The economical function of wax printing enables the Miao women to obtain the economic independence and help them to establish their status in the family and even the community. The author puts forward some proposal on the future trend of wax printing, and think that besides doing the ideological work of the common people, let them know the protection of national culture resources will bring them economic interest, and train them to have the sense of responsibility and mission to protect the national culture , the most important thing is to let the local people obtain economic interest from the national culture inheritance and preservation, and make them become the master of the national culture inheritance and the preservation, but not observer or the victim.Field investigation of wax printing craft and contemplating wax printing technology from the view of female would be very significant for the female research. And it also provides a case study of technical anthropology for the Miao's wax printing craft research. Taking advantage of this, we can carry on the dialogue with other related research.
