In this article, PANI nanotubes were successfully prepared by using materials with pores as a single template in the presence of H4SiW12O40 and ammonium persulfate ((NH4)2S2O8), which were regarded as dopant and oxidant, respectively, in this system. Morphology and structure of the templates was an important impact on micro-morphology, structure, and sensitivity. The diameter of PANI nanotubes is at nanoscale, which indicates their superior performance as chemical sensors.1. PANI nanotubes were successfully prepared by using thin glass tubes as a single template in the presence of H4SiW12O40 and ammonium persulfate, which were used as dopant and oxidant, respectively, in this system. The structure and morphology of the PANI were characterized by IR spectrum, XRD pattern, SEM images, and TEM images. The inner diameter of PANI nanotubes was between 50 and 100 nm.2. We report a novel, green method which by using inner eggshell membrane as a single template to synthesize polyaniline (PANI) one-dimensional nano-structured materials with hollow interior in one step. A series of experimental results indicated that the pores of the eggshell membrane plays key role in the final morphology of PANI. At the same time, possible formation mechanism of PANI nanotubes was proposed.3. 10 wt. % PVA fiber mats were prepared by high static voltage equipment. We used the PVA nanofiber mats as a template to synthesize the SiW12/PANI nanotubes. Nanotube morphology of the polyaniline was shown in the SEM images. The outer and inner diameters of the PANI nanotubes are 150-400 nm and 50-250 nm, respectively.4. The polyaniline nanotubes with high surface areas, small diameter, and porous nature have better performance in both sensitivity and time response. Therefore, we examine the sensitivity and time response of polyaniline nanotubes in more details.
