Prominently, the offshore platforms construction cost extremely high, locates the environment extremely bad, serves time to be long, its reliability and the durability have received the stern challenge. The question that enhances the offshore platform the reliability and guarantees the operational security is to change day by day. Considered the traditional examination methods partially survey cycle excessively to be long, does not have timeliness, therefore the sea platform on-line monitoring research has become urgently important issue. Therefore the research of offshore platform structure health monitoring method is extremely essential, it already becomes now one of scholar's research hotspots.The present paper main research content is as follows.The structure health monitor concept has been produced, then the present situation of the offshore platform structure health monitoring research and the difficult problem it faces are introduced.And the offshore platform structure health monitoring system basic principle and the composition of it are introduced. Then the offshore platform structure health monitoring essential technology discussion is made.Then the vibration modal parameters recognition methods are summarized, and each method good and bad points is pointed out. After that, the sea platform structure health monitor methods based on the vibration are in detail produced .After that the simulation analysis with ANSYS to the offshore platform is carried on. The recognition of the offshore platform structure damage divides the method which two step walks. The first step, uses two orders frequencies ratio method to distinguish the offshore platform components damage; Second step, because the same component damage in the symmetrical position is not to be able to distinguish, one kind of discrimination symmetrical position same component damages new method- relative total displacement law is proposed.
