UV curable leather finishing was emerged with the request of environmental protection and the growing of UV curable technologies. Advantages of water-based radiation curing include lower cost, no toxicity and good physical and mechanical. It has been the one of most attractive research and application areas and the green environmental product for 21st century.In this thesis, HDL PPO210/PPO220,DMPA and HEA were used to produce UV-Curing water-based polyurethane acrylic resin(PUA) ; Factors which affected on the synthesis of PUA, including structure of diol, content of DMPA, reaction temperature have been discussed. Tests of fundamental properties of PUA resins showed that different neutralizer and neutralizing extent, content of carboxy group, ratio of functional group, structure of diol and molecular weights of diol all affected on water-solubility,viscosity and size distribution of resin; When content of DMPA and HEA are increased, UV-Curing speed of PUA is enhanced. The influence of resin structure to the appearance and mechanical properties of coating were examined as well. Besides, the application of PUA that we synthesized in UV curable leather finishing was studied. The waterborne resins, photoinitiators and dyestuffs were selected, the relation ship between composition and property of apparent and mechanics was discussed. Especially, the finishing application property about air permeability, leather micro-morphology, content angle and so on were investigated. From the result, the synthesized UV curing coating showed its good UV-curing properties and it potential in the application as leather surface coating.Furthermore, the modification of nano-material to the UV leather finishing was studied. Followed the comparing of curable property, mechanical property, dispersive property after adding nano-material to the leather finishing, it indicated that different nano-material led to different influence on the coating performance. The additive amount and curable time were studied, and the dispersing state within cured film was also studied by SEM.
