In recent years, much interest has been focused on the design and synthesis of metal-organic coordination polymers, for their various intersting architectures and potential application. In coordination polymers, using multifunctional ligands and metal centers to construct 1-D, 2-D or 3-D infinite covalent frameworks, hydrogen bonds may be formed to build up hydrogen-bonding networks.In this paper, according to principles of molecular design, transition metal ion and partial lanthanide series metal ion were selected as template; 4,4'-biphenyldicarboxylic acid (H2bpdc), 2,5-thiophenedicarboxylic acid, nitrilotriacetic acid mainly acted as O-donors while 1,3-bis-(4-pyridyl) propane acting as organic N-donor which were used as building block to form novel metal-organic coordination polymer frameworks.Three new metal-organic coordination polymers have been synthesized and the crystal structures have been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. [{Co(bpp)2Cl2}(CH3OH)·(C2H5OH)·(1.5H2O)]n was synthesized by homogeneous phase method, which belongs to tetragonal system, space group 14(1) /a, a =17.228(2) (?),b= 17.228(2) (?),c = 42.127(8) (?),V= 12503(4) (?)3 =16, Fcalc d = 1.342 Mg/m3, final R1 value 0.0962 for 3921 independent reflections [I > 2s (I)].[Ni(bpp)(tdc)(H2O)2] n was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. It belongs to monoclinic crystal system, space group P21/c, a = 11.024 (2) (?), b = 11.828(2) (?), c = 16.780(6) (?),V=1999.7(9) (?)3, Z= 4, Fcalcd ) 1.538 Mg/m3, final R1 value 0.0424 for 4504 independent reflections [I > 2s (I)].[Zn(bpp)0.5 (tdc)(H2O)]n was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions, belonging to orthorhombic crystal system, space group Pbcn, a = 11.494(2) (?), b = 12.246(2) (?), c = 19.880(4) (?), V=2798.3(10) (?)3, Z=8, Fcalc d = 1.674 Mg/m3, final Rl value 0.0359 for 3173 independent reflections [I > 2s (I)].In addition, we have discussed the synthesis conditions in homogeneous phase method including different center ions, mole ratio of reactants, solvents and pH values, et al.
