In the paper ,the improvement of the stirring force is the main subject. The structural sizes of the second-zone section electromagnetic stirrer are transformed, while the technological parameters are optimized.Basing on the theory of electromagnetic field,computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and finite element method, the finite element mathematics model of the electromagnetic stirring for second-zone section during slab continuous casting has been built. The transient analysis of electromagnetic stirring for second-zone section has been carried out with the help of the ANSYS software. Magnetic flux density,electromagnetic force and the flowing of molten steel have been labored. It is indicated:1)according to the computed results in comparison with field data, the finite element model built is reliable. When the molten steel in second-zone section is stirred separately by and salient pole type electromagnetic stirrer, the magnetic field distribution is correspond, and molten steel is effected by the similarity characteristic traveling electromagnetic force.2)While the mandrel electromagnetic stirrer is acting, the stronger magnetic flux density and electromagnetic force is generated. The flowing velocity of molten steel effected by mandrel is greater than by salient pole type. So mandrel is better than salient pole type.3)If the longitudinal cross-section area of magnetic pole and magnetic yoke is expanded, the iron core permeable measurement is also expanded. Thus, electromagnetic force is enlarged, and the flowing velocity of molten steel has been improved. The algorithm has the better stirring effect. structural sizes are optimum analyzed on ,the better sizes of salient pole type stirring area as follow: magnetic pole width is 150mm,height is 450mm and thickness is 220mm.4)If the current frequent is increased, the flowing velocity of molten steel increased firstly, then decreased; If the current density is increased, the flowing velocity of molten steel is monotone increased. When the current density is 800A, the flowing velocity of molten steel is less effected. The better technology parameters: 800A,3Hz. It may analyze the flow field of molten steel in the second-zone section under the operating mode in practice and operation parameters by using the mathematical model and the result of simulation which proposed in this paper, it provides the basis for designing the reasonable the structure of electromagnetic stirring, guiding the actual production of continuous casting and optimizing the second-zone section.
