| Sulforaphane, one of the isothiocyanates is the most effective in defending andcuring cancer in nature. The methods of synthesizing sulforaphane in knownliteratures are very complex and the processes were controlled hardly.1-chloro-4-methylsulfinyl-butane which is an important intermediate compound, wassynthesized successfully from 1-bromo-3-chloropropane, 1-chloro-3-iodopropane anddimethyl sulfoxide in the presence of sodium hydride. Then let it react with NH4CNS in dry acetonitrile to give sulforaphane. Reaction conditions have been exploitatedin detail. Satisfactory reaction time, temperature, solvent and the molar ratio ofreactants have been discovered.Their structures were characterized by IR,MS,1H-NMR. The results indicatedthat the intermediate compound i. 1-chloro-4-methylsulfinyl-butane, and the finalcompound is sulforaphane. The method of synthesizing sulforaphane in this paper has simplized theprocesses greatly, which could be controlled easily. It is possible to producesulforaphane in industy. |
