Mixing of gas-liquid-sinking particle operation involves gas dispersion, solid-liquid suspension, etc. Lots of high viscous materials appear in producing, and this brings many difficulties to the transferring of mixing. So it's impendence to empolder the mixing system for high viscous and multiphase liquid. In this paper, the capabilities of six impellers, especially the gas dispersion and solid-liquid suspension capabilities, are investigated. According to the investigation, radial flow turbine impellers are adopted in the bottom, multiplex flow turbine impellers are adopted on the top, and all tow-lay impellers combinations are investigated following the fundamental in xanthan gum water solution.In this paper, the experimental data of gassed power consumption, gas holdup, solid content and equality degree of suspending solid are analyzed. The result has shown that, for CBDT turbine impeller, it is apparent than others in power consumption and reducing power falling, and it is having high gas holdup. In order to getting high solid content and high equality degree of suspending solid, 6BM impeller is superior to other impellers.The properties of tow-lay impellers in xanthan gum water solution is researched. It is shown that, in high viscous xanthan gum solution, the lower impeller with increased diameter is easy to get higher gas holdup and KLa. In all impellers combinations, P2DTD-6BM offers lower power consumption, higher gas holdup and higher KLa. This impellers combination is applied in xanthan gum fermentation. The yield of xanthan gum, the viscosity of fermenting broth and the translating degree of starch are all enhanced. It appears that this impellers combination is superior to others.In this paper, the gas sparger is improved to get more small air bubble, and the KLa enhanced much.
