Recent years, there are more and more artificial lakes built in the parks, greenbelt and inhabitancies. These lakes have become an important part in people's lifes and it has important effect for improving residential environment. But at the same time, we can't ignore that the water quality of this lakes deteriorate very quickly. Most of the artificial lakes are stillness or flows very slowly. They do not have strong self-purification capability. So they are easy to be polluted by wastewater, rainfall and garbages. It leads to different degrees of water pollution, even the eutrophication at last. Consequently, it loses its function of landscape water.Take the artificial lake of Chongqing university Huxi distrit as an example, this paper is studied on the evolvement of water quality and the impact factors. It provided some advises for better constuction and management for the artificial lakes. The lake was constructed at Dec.2005 and it contents two lakes, which named Xuezi Lake and Shiji Lake. The lakes is connected in series and its cubage is 4.84*105m3.This research analysis and predict water quality and variety regulation of the artificial lake in different position from flat surface direction according to the continuous water monitor data and the analysis of the water's physical, chemical and biological indicators; Compare with other reservoirs of Chongqing; Use the fuzzy method to carry on eutrication assessment in different position and water season.①The artificial lake's water quality satisfied water standard of IV though analysis(except TN and SD ). The main resources of water is rainfall,so the water quality vary with seasons.Because of the drought in 2006,the wetness days becomes short and the water circulation and various kinds of environmental factors influence overall water environment, water quality in period of normal level is better than that of dry season.②The main resourses of non-point pollution is the rainfall runoff which brings a lot of nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorus) into the lake.③Compared with the situation of early stage, the nutrients in sediment increased significantly. The internal pollution can't be ignored which has already become the important nutrients resource in water environment. The expriement indicated that when the pollutions outside the lake are controlled, the sediments become the most important pollution. ④Compared with other reservoirs of Chongqing, the lake has low SD, less nutrients. But the lake is very small, its self-purification capability is poor, it can be predicted that it will be eutrophication a few years later like other reservoirs.⑤According to the results of fuzzy assessment, the lake's water quality is at middle-eutrophcation level. We should take some effective measures to avoid water eutrophcation. And the key point is to take more circulation of the waterbody, control the endogenesis pollution and reduce the garbage in the water.⑥The lake in Huxi distrit is a new shallow-water landscape lake. We can get etter known to the eutrophication trend by the observation from the early stage. It has an important impact on establishing available measures to preventing of lake eutrophication, and it provides some scientific basis for the utilization of water resources and water environment protection's technical reference for other urban landscape lakes.
