Calculation On Water Environment Capacity Of Lake Based On GIS

With the rapid development of Socio-economic, and the city build expedited, thescale of water resources development and utilization is raising continuously, increasingthe volume of effluent discharged into water bodies. Especially, Lake environment issuffering a serious pollution, However, the lakes are as important water source areas orthe landscapes which is used for entertainment, so it is important to require the watermanagement can make accurate analysis of the lake pollution and the environmentalcapacity.The Study of the lake environmental capacity is a basic work of environmentalprotection and it is also the important method of environmental management. The key tocalculate lake environmental capacity is the research of the water environment capacitymodel. Taking Donghu Lake as an example, this article has evaluated the Donghu Lakeenvironment quality on the basis of the water environment monitoring, according to theresult of water environmental quality assessment, the major pollutants of Donghu Lake isTP, TN, CODcr. On the premise of water quality level III which is proposed by theenvironmental protection administrative department of Hubei Province, has evaluatedwater environmental capacity of TP, TN, CODcr.In support of GIS technology, this paper developed a system of Lake environmentalcapacity computing which consists of three core modules such as water qualityevaluation、eutrophication assessment and Water environmental capacity. At the sametime, related queries, graphical chart output, printed output, water quality monitoring datamanagement and some other functions were provided as well. Based on lake waterquality evaluation and lake environmental capacity calculation, this paper provided ascientific basis for the effective control of lake water pollution、water environmentprotection、lakes total pollutant control and the formulation of the Donghu Lake waterresources with the economic planning for sustainable development programs.
