| In this paper, the reactions of Co2(CO)8 with organic diyne compounds were carried out.Additionally, the syntheses of mixed metal mono- and double polyhedral carbonyl clusterscontaining alkyne-bridging were investigated.During this work, a total of eight compounds were obtained, including two unreporteddipropargyl esters and six transition metal carbonyl clusters includes one known cluster (cluster 4).All clusters were characterized by C/H analysis, IR and 1H-NMR. Several of them werecharacterized by 13C-NMR and MS analysis. In addition, cluster 3 was analyzed by cyclicvoltammetry method.Firstly, the reactions of glutaric acid, sebacic acid and propargyl alcohol afforded two dipropargylesters: (CH≡CCH2OCO)2(CH2)3 (compound 1) and (CH≡CCH2OCO)2 (CH2)8 (compound 2),respectively.Secondly, the reactions of Co2(CO)8 with (CH≡CCH2OCO)2(CH2)3 and (CH≡CCH2OCO)2(CH2)8afforded two linked tetrahedron carbonyl clusters containing Co2C2 unit (cluster 1, cluster 2),respectively.Thirdly, the reaction of cluster m-C6H4(C≡CH)2 with Co2(CO)8 afforded linked tetrahedroncarbonyl cluster containing the pn conjugated electron system (cluster 3), which is analyzed bycyclic voltammetry method.Lastly, the reactions of cluster 1, cluster 3 and (Co2(CO)6)(μ-CH≡CCH2OCO)C6H4(OCOCH2C≡CH) (cluster 4) with Fe3(CO)12 were investigated to give one octahedral andone double polyhedral mixed metal alkyne-bridging carbonyl clusters (cluster 5, cluster 6). |
