The discovery of submarine hydrothermal systems is arevolutionary achievement again after the establishment of plate tectonictheory in the domain of geology. The research of modern marinehydrothermal activity along with life phenomenon has been the majorhot-spot of the Marine Sciences, Geology, Geochemistry, Mineral depositgeology and Marine biology, especially the synthesis investigation of vitalsmall molecule (such as amino acids), which has a inseparably connectionwith origin of life and distributing of microorganism under submarinehydrothermal environment. At present, there are few reports about theinvestigation in China. A large achievement has been made abroad as aresult of the researchers set foot in the domain more early with theadvanced apparatus, but there are still some limitations and shortcomings, such as the flowing media is fresh water, is not yet the real seawater. The high-temperature and high-pressure reactor was designed in this paper. The synthesis of amino acids from formaldehyde and ammoniais investigated in order to explore the phenomena of origin of life undersubmarine hydrothermal environment. The results of this paper indicate that: (1) A suit of multifunctionalexperimental reactor, which can simulate hydrothermal conditions, hasbeen founded. (2) The ninhydrin reaction of amino acids is positive. (3)Using the GC/MS method, dimeric formaldehyde and its ramificationswhich were important intermediate products of the synthesis reaction weredetected.
