Welding positioner ,which is used for bearing and driving workpiece to change its position, is one kind of technical equip. Its application can make the manufacturing process easier, also can reduce labor intensity. But as a young production, it has prodigious limitations. The gear tears easily when it bears huge weight. It can not fulfill the welding process, when the shape of workpiece is complex.The paper aims at the two limitations of the Welding positioner, advance viable bule print respectively. Applying Four-bar mechanism and 4-DOF Parallel mechanism apply in Welding positioner, which can solve some problems in actual application. Particular research contents are as follows:1. Introduce the research and applied actuality of Welding positioner, then analysis its existing structure and limitations. Discuss the research signification and particular content of the paper.2. Advance new-style design blue print of Welding positioner, import four-bar mechanism to Welding positioner, which can improve its system capability.3. Advance a new type 2-DOF welding positioner.Using two different methods, analyse and design four-bar mechanism, which establish foundation for the design of mechanism.4. Using numeric method, optimize the parameter of the mechanism, gained feasible design method of mechanism.5. Advance a new type multidimensional welding positioner.Applying 4-DOF parallel mechanism in Welding positioner, which used in welding manufacturing process for the workpiece, whose shape is relatively complex.6. Analyse multidimensional welding positioner, research its kinematics, which establish foundation for the latter design.7. Research the capability of multidimensional welding positioner, Analyse the capability index such as speed,rigidity and carrying capacity.
