The design and manufacture of the heavy-load positioner is quite important to the equipment manufacturing industry of our country, especially the oil, nuclear power, wind power generation. Improving the ability of designing and manufacturing has major social significance and economic value. Thanks to the support of major national science and technology projects(2009ZX04002-061), this paper has finished some research on the new type positioner according to the requirements. It's hoped that some contributions will be made to the design and manufacture. The contents of the paper are as follows:1. We have improved the mechanism which makes the positioner overturn. Besides, we designed the new mechanism which has proved that this new mechanism has better performance by our calculations and simulation. Comparing with traditional gear transmission system, the new mechanism needs more simple structure, less power and less work space under the same conditions. Based on the requirements of the positioner, we optimized the lengths of the mechanism so that it had best performance.2. We create the kinematical modal of the boring-milling machine which uses the positioner as its rotating floor. Besides, we create the kinematical and dynamical modal of the positioner by linkage group method. And we simulate the kinematics and dynamics of the positioner based on the virtual prototype technology in order to verify the character of the mechanism that we design. In the mean time, the result could help the designer to choose reasonable joints and make strength checking. The link of the crank-rock is seemed as flexible body, other parts are seemed as rigid bodies. We make simulation of the Rigid-flexible coupling system, including the kinematics and dynamics. Comparing with rigid body simulation results, the flexible body has effects to the precision and drive force. It has great meaning to the theory analysis, fatigue prediction, error analysis and the modal of the control system. 3. We introduce the theory of the modal analysis and its application. Three key parts of the positioner are analyzed by ANSYS so that we could analyze the weak position of the parts according to the results. Besides, we give improvement suggestions.4. As an important part of the boring-milling machine, its precision has great effect to the positioner of the machine. As a result, we analyze the fuzzy reliability of the stiffness of the axle and the mechanism. The key thing is choosing the reasonable membership function which depends on the engineering experience.The research work of the positioner laid the foundation of laser range acquisition method used in the production field.
