The welding process monitor and quality analysis system of MAG welding based onboth electrical parameters and weld pool image is developed using LabVIEW asdevelopment tool. The system integrates the electrical parameters and molten bath imagesto analyze the whole welding process comprehensively, which is difficult to analyze by thesole parameter, and uses the computer technology to analyze the entire welding process.The system can realize the synchronized acquisition and demonstration of the current, voltage and molten bath image in the welding process, and analyze the welding processcomprehensively. It gives statistic data of the parameters, draws the U-I phased graph, calculates the instantaneous energy, and analyzes the characteristics of the pellet transitionprocess. It can also analyze the weld pool image in the density latitude and transform it tothe binary image, from which the characteristic of the molten bath, as perimeter, area, width, length, and tightness can be abstracted. It can even give the distribution graph of thegrey gradation average value, the standard deviation and grey gradation in the horizontaldirection.Meanwhile, sensing gathering experiments have been taken to comprehensive analyzethe outward appearance flaw and the penetration flaw. And the parameter and visualcharacteristics when the penetration appears have been proposed. It also shows that thesystem has the friendly contact surface, formidable function and good stability.
