The author developed a system for real-time acquisition of electrical signals and pictures in the actual welding process. The system includes both hardware and software. Hardware system includes Hall sensors, visual acquisition instrument, data acquisition card, image acquisition card, parameter acquisition instrument, and computer workstations. Software system is based on the LabVIEW, including five parts:virtual oscilloscope which displays current and voltage waveforms, a set of network transporting electrical signal parameters, the collection and storage of the signal parameters, the synchronized display of welding electrical signal waveform and image acquisition. Computers work as basic unit, is distributed and connected in a network, and can easily work in the data acquisition, storage, transmission, classification, which take personnel division and strengthen the security management.In our experiment, such as MIG and TIG automated welding process,we collect the electrical signal, results prove the system has good stability and usability, the data obtained coincide with the actual parameters. After the hardware and software optimization, removing the interference clutter, which is more conducive to analysis and processing, and has a supporting role in the analysis of the results of the welding quality assessment. Comparing the welding signal of TIG and MIG. we can get the stability of welding system.
