This paper analyses ingredient of manganese mineral, then which treating phenol and coking wastewater employing oxidability of manganese mineral, and studies some factors effecting oxidating phenol and coking wastewater by manganese mineral and discusses kinetics of reaction.Oxidation of phenol is markedly affected by pH of solution, reaction time and vibration velocity by manganese mineral, the removal of phenol CODCr can excess 92% when mineral partical size is 0.075~0.09mm, pH 1.0, reaction time is 2h and solution concentration is 1000mg/L. And 100mg/L phenol is oxidated by regenerated manganese mineral, the mineral can be reused more than 10 times ; Removal of CODCr and volatilizable hydroxybenzene can be excess 70% and 92% for coking wastewater with 6821mg/L CODCr and 1262mg/L volatilizable hydroxybenzene(calculated by phenol) by manganese mineral, compared with other facors pH, reaction time and vibration velocity are the most important to remove CODCr and volatilizable hydroxybenzene in wastewater, dosage and particle size of mineral have effects on the removal to the different extent, the temperature hardly has effect on the reaction; the product of oxidation of phenol and most of pollutants in coking wastewater is CO2, and releasing concentration of Mn2+ dose not equate that according to calculating theoretically, so hydroxylation on the surface of manganese mineral is proposed in this paper and oxidating degradation of phenol and coking wastewater is result of cooperation of hydroxyl radical; dynamic simulated experiment shows that the possibility of biochemical degradation of coking wastewater is enhanced greatly for oxidation of manganese mineral.Kinetics experiment shows that the oxidation reactions of phenol and coking wastewater on manganese mineral can be linearly fitted using pseudo-second order equation. And two reactions are also controlled by the process of phenol and pollutants of wastewater diffusing to the surface of manganese mineral in the liquor, those are diffusion controlled reaction.
