As the foundation and mark of a country's manufacturing, mould manufacturinghas been given the first rank of the mechanism industry informatization in our country.Optimization of production scheduling will greatly enhance the competitiveness andprofitability of an enterprise.In this paper, based on the mould electrode production processing, the schedulingstrategy with the group characteristics in final process in the CNC and EDMmanufacturing cell was investigated. Firstly, on the foundation of the existingmathematical model of FF2 scheduling, an abstract problem description was given out,and a corresponding mathematical model about the problem was put forward. And thena preliminary study about the optimal solution was carried out. On this basis,considering the above-mentioned model of FF2 scheduling with the constraints in finalprocess, a heuristic algorithm was constructed to obtain a satisfactory solution with thecondition of the definite value of the processing time. Simulation examples and resultsof the comparison of Branch and Bound method under the same size preliminarilyshowed the effectiveness of the heuristic algorithm to solve this problem. Then thisheuristic algorithm was extended to the scenario of the non-simukaneous arrival of theelectrode parts. Combined with a kind of event-based control strategy, a dynamic rolledplanning can be made. Simulation results showed that the method was feasible andeffective. In addition, taking account of the uncertainties during the productionprocessing, the scheduling problem of FF2 with fuzzy processing time was investigated.With the help of triangle fuzzy number, the uncertain processing time was described.And with the Lee-Li's theory of fuzzy decision-making, the fuzzy objective functionwas made accurately. An artificial immunity algorithm based on mechanism of biologyimmunity was introduced to make a scheduling. And a simulation result showed theeffectiveness of this method.Finally, considering the actual demand of the mould electrode manufacturing unit, amould electrode production planning and control system has been designed and developed using windows 2000 server as the development platform, Microsoft VisualStudio.NET as the development environment, C# as the development language, SQLServer2000 as database.
