The thrust construction in XinJi coalfield brought on lower Proterozic suberathem gneiss strata, Cambrian strata and lower horse strata covered on the coal-series strata. This special structure made the hydrogeological condition of coal mining become very complicated. There is no existent acquaintanceship about mining beneath the thrust at home and abroad. In this study, we collected drilling data, pumping tests data and the observation data of coalmine water rushing, and analyzed these data with new developed geostatistics. According to the thrust distribution contours which were made based on interplation of drill core catalogue data by Kriging method, we got the features of lithology structures and distribution rule of each stratum in the nappe. The values of average permeability and transmissivity coefficient were predicted with the forecast equation set up by correlation analysis and regression analysis of pumping tests data. The prediction model for coalmine water gushing was also built based on the regression analysis of the water gushing observation data.According to the spatial variability analysis of the thrust's hydrogeological parameters, we judged the water abundance feature of the nappe and its effect on coal mining, and presented suggestions for waterproof pillar design.
