As a result of global warming,the effect of human activities ,the complex geological conditions, the unique geomorphic features, and the various climate factors, disastrous weather has become very frequent in recent years ,which has caused great damage to the safety of people's life and property and the country's economic development. Unexpected mountain torrent disaster is one of the main extreme disastrous weather. China has been one of the countries which have the worst mountain torrent disaster in the world. At present, Humans don't possess complete abilities to fight with the nature force, so reducing the loss to the lowest point becomes when natural disasters happens .The risk zoning research of mountain torrent disaster is an effective measure, which can turn "passive" to "active" in flood control and disaster mitigation. For its significant role in this function, the risk zoning can help to avoid losses caused by flood disaster. According to the research, the department of flood control can make scientific decision and make people avoid danger effectively, and the organization of water conservancy can establish standard to prevent flood and to plan flood control engineering construction scientifically. It also can provide technical institutions and service for urban construction, land planning, production management and people's living to prevent flood, reduce disasters and avoid dangers. Taking Huangshuihe river valley as a case , supported by the subject of"The renewal database of land use of Longkou city, Qixia city, Penglai city, Zhaoyuan city"and"Research and application of water resource time and space analysis system", the paper, on the basis of disaster system theory, with the comprehensive consideration of indexes and factors such as disaster-pregnant environment, disaster-causing factors and disaster-bearing bodies and the attained materials and weather the indexes and factors are easy to be taken and stored, expressed and calculated in GIS, choices the factors of the risk analysis of mountain torrent disaster and studies methods for acquisition of indexes and factors based on GIS. With the spatial analysis and statistics function of GIS, hazard risk and vulnerability is analyzed quantitatively. Then hazard and risk zoning of mountain torrent disaster in Huangshuihe River Valley is carried out. Moreover, the result is analyzed essentially. The main contents of this study are as follows:ChapterⅠ: Introduction. It mainly introduces the background and meanings of this article. On the basis of previous achievements,new research methods and working follow-steps are put forward.ChapterⅡ: The general situation of research region. This chapter is mainly about defining the size of river basin, study the natural geography, social economy situation and historical disaster conditions. And how to define the size of river basin based on DEM is mainly discussed.ChapterⅢ: index system of the risk analysis of mountain torrent disaster in Huangshuihe river valley and the methods for acquisition of the index. Based on the field investigation and characteristic analysis, the factors of the risk analysis of mountain torrent disaster was chosen and methods for acquisition of indexes and factors based on GIS was studied with the comprehensive consideration of indexes and factors such as disaster-pregnant environment, disaster-causing factors and disaster-bearing bodies and the attained materials, also considering whether the indexes and factors are easy to take and store, express and calculate in GIS,.ChapterⅣ: The analysis of the risk of mountain torrent disaster in Huangshuihe River Valley. Basing on flood risk theory and formation mechanism of mountain torrent, hazard risk and economic vulnerability are analyzed. Finally, the risk analysis of mountain torrent disaster in Huangshuihe River Valley was accomplished based on the formula of risk= hazard×vulnerability.ChapterⅤ: The zoning of the risk of mountain torrent disaster in Huangshuihe river valley. According to the back ground and mechanism of flood disasters'formation, all kinds of affecting factors of mountain torrent causes are analyzed. Then index model of the zoning of the risk of mountain torrent disaster is set up .With the help of the index model, the zoning of the risk of mountain torrent disaster in Huangshuihe River Valley is carried out. And the results are analyzed ChapterⅥ: Conclusion and prospect. In this chapter, the main research fruits in this paper are discussed. Then weakness of this research and future research directions are provided after summarizing some research characteristics and innovations.
