Powder compaction is a very important process during the fabrication of function ceramic, which makes decisive effect to the performances of products. The low-voltage electromagnetic compaction into powder products is an effective method to get high density and uniformity. The low-voltage electromagnetic two-directional compaction of ceramics powder is a new research based on this technology. The results showed that this method can be used to press the ceramics powder efficiently and the density is more uniform then the products can get excellent performances.In the process of electromagnetic compaction, there are so many parameters therefore only with the method of experiment to get the influence of each parameter on sample's properties is not economical. so, this article uses the finite element analysis software ANSYS and MSC.Marc to simulate the process of low-voltage electromagnetic two-directional compaction on functional ceramics powder in the mode of indirect way, then the influence regularity of each parameter on the compaction results had been analyzed systemically .In the analysis of the circuit and electromagnetism, based on the theory of circuit and Maxwell equations set, using the finite element analysis software ANSYS, the circuit and electromagnetism had been analyzed qualitatively, then the current on the coil and the distribution of electromagnetic force in the process of experiment had been calculated. Moreover, by the means of simulation, the influence of circuit parameters on current and electromagnetic force was investigated.As to the powder compaction process, finite element software MSC.Marc is used to model the process. Shima model of powder material module in MSC.Marc had been used to establish the function ceramic power material modeling, according to setup the structure properties and dynamic parameters, the compaction process had been simulated. Then one-directional and two-directional compacting process are studied under different parameters. The relative density distributions of the billet are gained. After comparison, the features and regularity had been analyzed.Through a great amount of simulations, we compared the simulation results with the experiment dates, and validated the correctness of the simulation. The results obtained in this paper may enrich the low-voltage electromagnetic compaction theory and craft, promote the applications of it and improve the development of numerical simulation for function ceramics powder forming. This is of significant.
