5-sulfosalicylate anions (SSA) have been intercalated into layered double hydroxides (LDHs) by an anion-exchange reaction using MgAl-N03-LDHs, ZnAl-NO3-LDHs and NiAl-NO3-LDHs as precursors and finally MgAl-SSA-LDHs, ZnAl-SSA-LDHs and NiAl-SSA-LDHs with new structure were gotten respectively. UV-vis test shows that the three samples have very good UV absorbing ability. The samples were also characterized by XRD, FT-IR, TG-DTA, et al. The results indicate the existence of a supramolecular structure involving electrostatic attraction between opposite charges, hydrogen bonding and other weak chemical bonding interactions between hosts and guests not just a mixer. The photo-stability of PP modified with MgAl-SSA-LDHs, ZnAl-SSA-LDHs and NiAl-SSA-LDHs was also studied in this paper and the experimental results show thai the NiAl-SSA-LDHs are the most effective one to slow down the rate of decomposition and aging of PP under UV exposure.P-nitrobenzene-azo-salicylate anions (NASA) have been intercalated into layered double hydroxides (LDHs) by an anion-exchange reaction using ZnAl-NO3-LDHs and NiAl-NO3-LDHs as precursors and ZnAl-NASA-LDHs and NiAl-NASA-LDHs were gotten respectively. The test results show that ZnAl-NASA-LDHs and NiAl-NASA-LDHs are also with a supramolecular structure. Both of them can absorb more than 90% of the UV-ray in rang of 200-400 nm.Benzoic Acid (BA) and Salicylic Acid (SA) have been intercalated into LDHs by an anion-exchange reaction using ZnAl-NO3-LDHs as a precursor and ZnAl-BA-LDHs and ZnAl-SA-LDHs were gotten. Kinetics on decomposition of ZnAl-BA-LDHs, ZnAl-SA-LDHs and ZnAl-SSA-LDHs under thermal treatment using Achar method in differential methods and Coats-Redfern method in integral methods were also studied in this paper. The calculating results show that the decomposition process is subject to Z-L-T equation diffusion 3D mechanism before 350-450℃, while in the higher temperature the decomposion process is subject to Avrami-Erofeev equation nucleation and growth mechanism.
