Organosilicon modified acrylic composite emulsion was prepared by seededemulsion polymerization. MMA,BA,AA, A-174 were used as monomer orcomonomer, and proper emulsifier, initiator and other assistants were selected.Manyfactors could affect the properties of the product emulsion. The results showed thatthe kind and content of emulsifiers, the ratio of hard and soft monomers the content oforganosilicon, and the polymerization processs could strongly affect the emulsionpolymerization and properties of the product emulsion. Considering both the cost andthe properties factors, proper recipe and process were presented.Nanosized TiO2 was prepared by hydralysis of Ti4+X complex compound withTiCl4 as the forerunner. The surface modification by A-174 was studied. By meansof XRD and TEM, the composition and morphology of the crystal phase of TiO2nanoparticle is characterized and the influence of heat-treatment temperature on thecrystalline structure of TiO2 is also investigated. The results indicate this modifiedTiO2 disperse equally. The surfaces of nano-TiO2 particles were changed fromhydrophilic to hydrophobic and active organic functional groups were grafted to theparticles' surfaces by being modified with silane coupling agents. The modifiednano-particles could stay stably and agglomeration was avoid.Nano-TiO2/organosilicon modified acrylic composite emulsion was obtained byin-situ polymerization. The pollutant degrade functions of the composite emulsionwere characterized. The result showed that these functions of nano-TiO2/organosiliconmodified acrylic composite emulsion were excellent. In a short time, and the degradedergree of formaldehyde of diluted emulsion reached 80%. The composite emulsioncan be used as base material of slap-up environment protecting coating, which willhas the function of environment cleaning.
