An insoluble SA-Fe membrane was prepared by being linked soluble sodium alginate with FeCl3 and was characterized by SEM, IR spectrum, TG and mechanical test. The experiment results indicated that Fe3+ was linked with -COOH and -OH in the modified SA membrane. As a cationic exchanging membrane in electrodialysis cell, the membrane was applied in treating inorganic wastewater with high concentration of inorganic ammonia and azote. The modified SA membrane appeared previously selectivity to ammonia and azote. The percentage of the removal of ammonia and azote in wastewater was up to 80%. Electrodialysis and Fenton reagent were combined by couple membranes (Sodium alginate cation membrane, Chitosans anion membrane) with three chambers cell, and the equipment was used to treat the landfill leachates. NH3-N in landfill leachates was enriched in catholyte by electrodialysis and was removed by following chemical precipitation. In the meantime, Fe2+ was produced in the anodic chamber. Then E-Fenton was used to degrade organic compound and decrease the concentration of CODcr. CODcr and NH3-N in Landfill leachates were reduced efficiently. Preliminary, it is estimated that the cost of treating landfill leachate is about 16.5 CNY·m-3.
