At prcscnt, thc flamc-rctardant systcms that have bccn most commonly uscd for flame rctardant Poly(1,4-butyiene terephthalate) reinforced by glass fibcr consist of halogcnatcd additive(most often brominated and polymeric) and an antimony source. In view of the drawback of halogen additive, Europe league came out with two directives named WEEE and ROHS in 2003, which restricted its use, so no halogen flame retardant PBT would become the developing direction. At present, primary color no halogen flame retardant PBT reinforced by glass fiber has been explored by BASF and Byer, but the method are not published and our country is just on the starting line. This paper is about the preparation of no halogen flame retardant PBT composite reinforced by glass fiber.The problems existed in PBT reinforced by glass fiber have been researched. The relationship between the content of glass fiber and mechanical properties has been mastered by means of experiment; the problem of the naked glass fiber has been solved, and this technique has been used in production; the relationship in quantity to control the content of glass fiber has been worked out, which has been used in the production.Toughter used in PBT and some relational data in and out of China are secret in company which can not be obtained. The proper toughters have been elected in this paper by means of experiment, and the results of the toughening effect have been checked.The author prepares dark no halogen flame retardant PBT composite reinforced by glass fiber with coating red phosphorus, light no halogen flame retardant PBT composite reinforced by glass fiber with built system of whited red phosphorus and MPP, primary color no halogen flame retardant PBT reinforced by PBT with char source CTJ06 and phosphorus-nitrogenous FR-NP which were made by the author himself.
