Porosity is introduced into the metal bonded diamond wheel, so it makes this kind of wheel have several advantages, including that easy to be dressed and trued, low grinding temperature and low grinding force. But in the application there are several problems that the diamond retention is low and the abrasive is pulled out easily. The high temperature brazing technology and the fabrication technology of porous materials is adopted in this article. Give emphasize to the chemical metallurgy bond between diamond and metal bond, and improve the capacity of retention. It hopes this kind of grinding wheel apply in the more grinding fields.The segments of porous metal bonded diamond wheel which compose of Ni-Cr filler, Fe powder, diamond and foamer, were fabricated by loose powder sintering. The rule of porosity in matrix and segments was studied. The foam and structure of porous was observed. The transverse-repture strength of the porous metal bonded diamond segments was measured by three-point bend to fail test. We selected the 40/50 diamond according the results. The grinding experiment of the porous metal-bonded diamond grinding on ceramic was carried out. The surface roughness and grinding force were measured. The surface of workpiece was observed.The results show that: the range of porosity is from 53.15% to 73.31%; the size of foamer decides the size of porous. The transverse-repture strength of the matrixs and segments decreases along with the increase of porosity, increases along with the increase of content of Ni-Cr filler and diamond. The best surface roughness Ra of zirconia workfiece is 0.112μm。...
