The Si(Ti)/PVDF hybrid hollow fiber membrane was prepared by immersionprecipitation phase inversion technique. The influences of casting solutioncomposition and preparation condition on the membrane morphological structure andcharacteristics were investigated. After experiments such as viscosity, SEM, FT-IR,TG, mechanics capability, contact angle, bubble point, water flux and porosity tests,the results show that small molecular weight PVP additive and litter longer, dryjourney are propitious to obtain the porosity and high flux separation membrane. Itwas found that both the addition of TEOS and TBT can cause a strong increase of theviscosity, that made membrane formation easier, the skin layer and cross membranethickness augmented, more porous macrovoid wall was formed in the hybridmembrane, theαphase PVDF decreased andβphase PVDF increased, the hybridmembrane was a physical blend membrane, thermal stability and crystal degreeimproved: For Si/PVDF hybrid membrane, its mechanical strength and flexility raisedwith TEOS at a low level, hydrophilic performance, surface porosity and water fluxenhanced. For Ti/PVDF hybrid membrane, its performance enhanced when TBTproperty was low. Its mechanical strength and flexility descend if TBT was added toomuch.
