Acrylic acid (AA), which is the raw material of sorbent, purificant, fibre, pulp additive, felted, plastic, dope and so on, has been widely used in petrochemical industry, light industry, medication industry and its using aera is spreading. Compared with the two steps-oxygenation of propylene to prepare acrylic acid, the oxygenation of propane has the advantages of cheaper raw material and briefer preparing process. Besides, it uses the saturated hydrocarbon economically. So, it has drawn a lot of attention recently. In this paper, the selective oxidation of propane using lattice oxygen as oxidant could be implemented in the following manner: a riser reactor for oxidation of propane with lattice oxygen to form product, a regenerator for re-oxidation of catalyst by air to restore its initial state. There are several advantages in the separation of redox process comparing with co-feed mode: a high selectivity of product could be obtained, because non-selective oxidation could be inhibited in the absence of gas phase oxygen; a highly concentrated propane feed stream could be used due to no trouble with explosion limit, that results in a simpler separation of the products and the recovery of unconverted hydrocarbon feed for recycle. This new technology is very useful for selective oxidation of hydrocarbons to save raw materials, improve environment and enhance economic benefit.
