To ensure the pellet cutting smoothly, the melted polymer must be filtered strictly before entered into the mould board in the polymer pellet process. The grade of the material is different, the screen hole that need to be filtered is also different. Because the polymer is produced successively, the continuous filtering makes the particles and dirty things accumulate, result in the block of the screens, the flow rate decrease and pressure increase, in order not to affect the production, the screen must be changed. The screen exchanger in ABS plant was manufactured in JSW company in JAPAN and supplied four years ago with the extruder. These exchangers are hydraulic, and the medium is 46# ant grind hydraulic oil, at first the pressure must be increase to 21MPa, and then change the screen. The change is manual, and in the case of shut up, so this kind of change is waste time and labor, and shut up needs to waste money. to change the screen efficiently and better, the screen exchanger have been revamped as per the drawing ,the double pass slip plate(single slip plate is used at present) have been used .when the screen is changed ,plate 1 actions first, all the material pass the plate 2,as the time of hydraulic cylinder action is less than one second ,the die head will not fluctuate. After the plate 1 actions, the plate 2 actions, a straight pass is ensured and the screen changed without shut up is realized. Recycle water pass is put in the slip plate seal side, during normal operation, cold water can be put in ,the material in the edge side can be decreased the temperature, functioned as seal, and the leakage is eradicated.
