Whisker materials have become hotspot researched by scientists all over the world because of their unique functional characters in lately decade years. It is very important to research abrasion- resistant whisker-composite coatings manufactured by inorganic whisker materials and organic polymer materials. The whisker-composite coatings can be applied for furniture floor and other similarities, which need high abrasion-resistance.Two UV-curing resins MAn-HTPB modified epoxy acrylate and polyurethane acrylate were prepared by designing molecule structure. The optimum reaction conditions were studied. The UV-curing coatings were obtained with the two resins as films by adding active thinners, photoinitiator and other additives. And each propertie was measured.A flexible modified epoxy acrylate prepolymer based on the reaction of epoxy acrylate with the esterified producetion of MAn and HTPB has been given,then a good performance and easy construction product for UV-curing coatings is formed. And the effects of the dosage of catalyst ,reaction temperature and reaction time have been studied,then the optimum reaction conditions for epoxy modification was given.The effect of the kind and dosage of photoinitiator on the curing speed, the effect of crosslinking agents'constitutes on the coating's performance were discussed. Finally,the modified epoxy acrylate UV-curing coating's properties were better than the coating without modify, especially the flexibility.Polyurethane acrylate prepolymer(PUA) was prepared from toluene-2,4– diisocyanate(TDI),SAN resin,and hydroxyethyl acrylate. The effect of reaction temperature, reaction time and catalyst concentration on synthesis of PUA was studied. The optimal conditions for synthesis of PUA were found as follows:the first step, reaction temperature 25~35℃, reaction time 2.5 hours;The second step, reaction temperature 7580°C, reaction time 3 hours and catalyst content about 0.4%.In the mean time, the UV-curing coating was obtained by adjusting the ratio of the active thinners such as TPGDA,TMPTA,HDDA,and the optimal prescription of coating,which was well flexile and fit for UV-curing was determined through measuring and comparing such as the polish,rigidity,flexility,impact strength,adhesion and so on.Silane coupling agent(KH570) treated CaCO3 whisker surface. It was proved by infrared spectral analysis that KH570 can react with hydroxide of CaCO3 whisker surface. High abrasion-resistant whisker-composite coatings can be prepared by mixing modified CaCO3 whisker with MAn - HTPB modified epoxy acrylate and polyurethane acrylate. As a best result, lacquer's abrasion loss reached the lowest adding 10wt% CaCO3 whisker. The whisker-composite coating separately reduced by 91.25 and 91.7 compared with pure resin matrix. Otherwise, the performance of strength, rigidity, flexility and adhesion were also very good.CaCO3 whisker dispersion in coating and the pattern of coating before and after wearing were observed by optical microscope. The coating's abrasion mechanism is discussed.
