Coordination polymer, that is coordination complexes with extended structureself-assembled through metal ions and organic ligands, is regarded the most promisingfunctional materials currently and has been an active area in inorganic and materialschemistry due to its interesting potential application in optics, electronic, magnetic andcatalytic ect fields. Herein, using hydrothermal and solvothermal etc. syntheses methods,we report the self-assembly and characterization of nine novel one-, two- andthree-dimensional coordination polyiners and six monomers with imidazole and itsderiveatives as neutral ligands. Their single crystal structures have been determined usingX-ray difraction methods.ChapterⅠ: A survey on the hot spot of coordination polymers, is concisely presented, aswell as scientific significance and the results in this dissertation. Moreover, we introducedthe synthesis methods of imidazole and its derivatives, as well as the synthesis andapplications of coordination complexes.ChapterⅡ: Two heteronulear coordination polymers [Cu(Me-Im)3Hg(SCN)4] (1) and[Mn(Im)2Hg(SCN)4] (2) are designed and synthesized by the reaction of Hg(SCN)42 anionwith Mn(Im)62+ and Cu(N-MeIm)62+ cation; five mononuclear coordination polymersincluding[Cd(Im)2(SCN)2] (3),[Cd(N-MeIm)2(SCN)2] (4),[Cu(Im)2(SCN)2] (5),[Cu(N-MeIm)2(SCN)2] (6) and [Cu(N-EIm)3(SCN)2](10) and three monomers including[Cd(N-VIm)4(SCN)2] (7),[Ni(N-VIm)4(SCN)2] (8)and [Mn(N-VIm)4(SCN)2] (9)have been synthesized from SCN- and transition metals with the presence of neutralligands. Their single crystal structures have been determined using X-ray difractionmethods.ChapterⅢ: Two 1-D coordinatin polymers [Cu (TA) (N-MeIm)2] (11) and [Zn (PHT) (N-MeIm)2] (12) are synthesized by the using of phthalic acid and terephthalic acid.Moreover, their TG/DTG properties were discussed.ChapterⅣ: Three complexes includeing [Cu(Phen)·2H2O](PA)·3H2O (13),[Cd(Phen)2Cl2]2.0.5H2O (14) and [Zn(C8H4O4)(Phen)(H2O)3].H2O (15) are designed andformed from Phenylacetic acid or phthalic acid with the presence of neutral ligandPhenanthroline, their crystal structures and thermal properties are also presented.
