The reaction rule of PPR melt grafted Maleic anhydride (MAH) during reactiveextrusion has been studied in a specific designed grafted reactive extruder in this paper. Theeffects of MAH content, Dicuumyl peroxide (DCP) content and processing conditions ongrafting degree and melt flow rate of the product were studied. The results showed that theoptimal conditions were: MAH 2.5%, DCP 0.15%, screw rotate speed 45rpm, reactiveextrusion temperature 190℃.IR, DSC and WAXD were used to analyze PPR-g-MAH product. The results showedthat the grafted product was pure, and the evident anhydride peak indicated the anhydride isgrafted onto PPR molecule chain. Crystallinity of PPR-g-MAH is increased, and theanhydride on molecule chain makes 040 surface increase. The crystal phase remainsunchanged, stillαcrystal phase.Better PPR-g-MAH products have been used to blend with PA66 in order to prepareultra toughness PA66 in this paper. Tensile strength, impact strength and morphologystructure of PA66/PPR-g-MAH blends were studied. The results showed that mechanicsproperties of blend with adding PPR-g-MAH are increased greatly, and better than PA66blending with PP-g-MAH. At the same time, the effects of PPR-g-MAH grafting degree onmechanics properties and morphology structure of PA66 blends were also analyzed.Properties of PA66/PPR-g-MAH blends become better with PPR-g-MAH grafting degreeincreasing, and PPR-g-MAH phase in the blend disperses better. Particle size domainsbecome much smaller and more homogeneously. In this paper, PE-g-MAH product which had already put into production was chosen as acompatibilizer for PA66/PE, PA66/EVA and PA66/POE blends, respectively, becauseanhydride in PE-g-MAH and PA66 can interact in order to increase their compatibiIization. The effects of PE-g-MAH content on processing property, mechanics properties, compatibilization, morphology structure and moisture content were carefully studied by usingkinds of methods. The results showed that compositive properties of PA66/POE/PE-g-MAHblends were better than PA66/PE/PE-g-MAH and PA66/EVA/PE-g-MAH.The effects of POE and PE-g-MAH content on PA66/POE/PE-g-MAH blend propertieswere studied carefully. The results showed that POE content 18% and PE-g-MAH 9% blendsowned the best compositive properties and compatibilization of all. Non-isothermal crystallization kinetics was used to research PA66/POE withoutcompatibilizer and PA66/POE/PE-g-MAH blends. Crystalline and compatibilization werestudied under different temperature descending speed. Using Avrami and Mozhishen equationcalculated, respectively, the results showed that using Avrami equation calculating PA66/POE/PE-g-MAH blend system was improper, but the linearity-fit of Mozhishen equation ofthe blend was better. It showed that adding compatibilizer PE-g-MAH can reduce thecrystalline speed of PA66 and increase the compatibilization of different components.
