Suzhou, a famous historical and cultural city, crisscrossed by lots of rivers, has reputaion of "Oriental Venice". In recent years, with dramatical development of industries and increasement of population in urban area, river pollution is becoming more and more serious. Many reasons brought about consequences: rivers are in the state of tranquil flow, having small river basin, been vulnerable to contaminates, and lacking capability of self-purification. All of these results make water bodies subjected to photosynthesis, and change the color and the smell of them, so that influent natrual environment and art environment severly. Therefor, it is time for us to deal with urban rivers' problems effectively.Aeration skill has been wildly concemed in effluent treatment field in recent years. It takes up less area, has high efficency, and is convenient in both operation and management processes, so it is often used for in-situ remediation of polluted water. We established a medium base in a loop fiver in Jiangfeng Campus in the University of Science and Tecnology in Suzhou, combined with artificial water power cycle technology on the basis of aeration skill. Aiming at the object of river in the Jiangfeng Campus, we studied and discussed about theories of artificial water power cycle technology and common aeration skill. The result of experiments indicated that this skill could increase DO and transparency obviously as well as reduce organic pollutant, nitrogen and TP. According to data from system analysis of river situations in a year, we have known optical operation conditions in different seasons of the equipment, and the fruits of our studies will have benefit to promoting applications and spreads of this skill in dealing with urban rivers and the like.
