The main study of this text is the synthesis of metal-porphyrin compounds and their fluorescent property, and their single-crystal structures were brought up and analyzed by X-ray diffraction. Two kinds of the porphyrin compounds were synthesized, which contains (Ⅰ) 2,3,7,8,12,13,17,18-β-Octamethyl-5,10,15,20-Tetraaryl Porphyrin (20-34) and (Ⅱ)β-octamethyl-5,15-di(alkyl)-10,20-diphenylporphyrin compounds (25-30), and the porphyrin Zn complexes(31-43) and the porphyrin Cu complexes(44-48). Their structures were characterized by UV-vis , IR , 1HNMR and elementary analysis . The study of fluorescent property show that the porphyrin Cu complexes have no fluorescence, it may be due to the outer layer d orbit presenting single-electron state, when coordinating with the porphyrins , it remain single–electron state, which destroy the conjugated system of the porphyrin macro-ring, then could not present fluorescence. However, compared with their ligands, the fluorescent intensity of porphyrin Zn complexes are less, some even disappear, and the emission peaks of fluorescene have a certain extent blue shifts. The study of crystal structures discover that owing to theβ-methyl of this new type porphyrin compounds and their metal-complexes, their crystal structures are all nonplanar. Furthermore, the crystal of porphyrin ligand 18 indicate the porphyrin ligand is protonated, which prove that the absence of its intra-annular H is at high field of 1H NMR.In addition, porphyrin Zn complexes are stable to light, heat and oxygen, and easy to crystallize, which is good for preparation of flims, then used in the study of luminescent device. They may be to become the comparatively ideal red materials, hopefully.
