As a kind of special macrocyclic compounds, porphysins were recently paid more and more attention from many investigator in various fields such as electrochemistry, photophysics, photochemistry, analytical chemistry and biomimetic chemistry.The synthesis of a series of compounds, which refer to Mesogenic-tetra(2-alkoxyphenyl)porphyrins(T(2-ROP)PH2) and their complexes with Zn Cu and Co, were practiced from the meterials of n-alkoxy, salicylaldehyde and pyrrole. Among them there are thirty-three new compounds which have not been reported so far. All these new compounds were identified by IR, UV, 1HNMR, MS and Element analysis.In an attempt to discover a simple and efficient method to purify the complexes, all reactions of the synthesis were investigated. Even the crux that the compounds and their complexes have solid-melting phase on normal conditions was resolved. The fluorescence of T(2-ROP)PH2 and ZnT(2-ROP)P was demostrated by experiments and instruments. The liquid crystalline of T(2-ROP)PH2 and their metal derivatives were indicated by DSC and polarized-light microscope. Further more, the influences of factors, such as the position of alkoxy chains and metal irons on spectrum and liquid crystalline of metal porphyrins , were discussed in this article. Our research will be very important in both theoretical study and practical application.
