The grafting modification of acrylate Organ phosphorous monomers onto silk fibers in aqueous systems was discussed as concerns as the characters of silk structure, in which the pre-emulsification method was used and potassium persulfate (KPS) as initiator.Firstly, phosphorus oxychloride, hydroxyethyl methacrylate and anhydrous alcohol were used to prepare for acrylate Organ phosphorous compound in two steeps.Based on the former work, the effects of various parameters on grafting were studied, such as the use of monomer and initiator, pH value, reaction time and reaction temperature. Thus the grafting technics was optimized.Furthermore, the application performance of grafted silk was studied in this paper, such as the whiteness, mechanical performance, the flammability, LOI. Infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), wide-angle X-ray diffraction patterns(WAXD), scanning electron micrograph photographs(SEM), amion acid analysis, nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) and DTA-TG were done to study the structure of grafted silk. The results of investigation indicated that the silk grafted by Organ phosphorous obtained super flammability, and there was no formaldehyde on grafted fiber.
