This paper summarizes the development course of sand control technology for 1940's domestic and foreign oil gas wells until now. The mechanism of formation sand flow are analyzed by the numbers. Further more, the chemical sand control methods, techniques, the suitable condition as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each technology are introduced emphatically in this paper. The resin solution sand consolidation technique has been thoroughly studied in Daqing Oilfield.In the research process,the phenolic resin coated sand, furfuryl alcohol modified resorcinol resin and urea resin which are commonly used in China at present, are mainly selected to carry on the laboratory experiment appraisal, including formation temperature, different temperature, consolidation experiment under the formation pressure conditions, immersion experiments of different media and block sand capacity experiment and so on. The laboratory experiments show that each target of the sand control strength, permeability, the rate of quartz sand permeability retention, and the ability to block sand for the resin and sand consolidation agent are very good to apply in field experiment.After the field test in 12 production wells of Oil Product No.1 of Daqing Oilfield, the sand production rate of testing wells is significantly decreased and the daily oil production is increased obviously. Therefore the sand controlling result of using resin solution is quite to be remarkable and has stable stratal configuration function.
