The object section contour measurement technology based on line structured light is one of the most practical non-contact 3D measurement technologies commercially at present. It has many advantages, just as simple principle, non-contact, high efficiency, easy to realize automation during measuring process and high precision, holds the important status in the modern measurement, is attached importance to people, and is an effective approach to solve non-contact 3D measurement problems. Traditional contact measuring will damage object surface and can not measure object with soft surface, but object section contour measurement technology based on line structured light makes up the limitation and can realize 3D measurement of object surface shape.In this paper 3DS MAX and MATLAB are combined to the computer simulation study from on the principle to the last object section contour reconstruction process. The centers of laser stripes are located to sub-pixel by improved stripe center locate method based on gauss distributing principle. The main research contents are as follows:1. According to basic principle on object section contour measurement system based on line structured light, this thesis constructs system mathematical model, analyze system sensitivity, system errors, and mainly analyze and rectify lens distortion error.2. The virtual system devices such as projector, camera, measured objects and the condition of measurement are simulated by 3DS MAX, and many images with stripe are taken. Method of sub-pixel locate laser stripe center coordinate base on Gauss distribution least square method is improved.3. The thesis applies MATLAB to process the images, and program software in GUI to calculate and reconstruct is made to get object section contour.4. Through computer simulation and experiment set, sub-pixel resolution object section contour measurement system based on line structured light and the system software are validated by experiment.The simulation scheme in this thesis is 3DS MAX combing with MATLAB. Through principle analyses and simulation experiment, some key problems are solved, just as algorithm of sub-pixel laser stripe center locating, joining of stripes got from many images and optic lens distortion error rectification, and so on. Then experiment set is composed and it is used to validate experiment.
