Lately, the application of 3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene(EDT) is more and more abroad, but the synthesis of monomer EDT exist much difficulties, and it's the yield can not far meet the require of market.At present, the way of synthesis of EDT is main five-pace method of J.D.Sten gerSmith et.al. Regretly, the route of the method is long, the yield low and the cost high, which restrict its application. Lately, the method of two-step has been designed by fredrik von kieseritzky et al. but the limitation of the method is materials and intermediate is easy to polymerize, so that it can't be separated and purified. Therefore, it has impormant theoretical and practical significance to find one method with short route, high yield and low cost.We improved on the way of Fredrik von Kieseritzky etc. while 2,3-buranedione and methyl o-formate react, SCl2 is added, so the creating 2,3-dimethoxy-1,3-butadiene react with SCl2 immediately, and 3,4-dimethoxy thiophene is collected, the yield is 28%. It reduced the polymerization of 2,3-dimethoxy-1,3-butadiene itself and increased the yield. The ratio of materials and the kind of catalyst etc all have much effect on the yield. If 2,3-dimethoxy-1,3-butadiene is synthesized firstly, after seperation, reacted with SCl2 followly, it,s yield only have 13%, besides the condition of reaction is more rigorous and the operation is more complicate. In the synthesis of goal product, 3,4-dimethoxy thiophene is added to the mixture of toluene solfonic and glycol to get EDT. In a word, the time of reaction is decreased and the yield of EDT heightened by one-pot synthesis.The electrode modified with PEDT is got by electrochemical polymerization, the effect of electrocatalyse of the electrode modified with PEDT on o-phenol and p-phenol is studied and the effect is excellent.
