As a conductive polymer, poly3,4-ethylenedioxy thiophene (PEDOT)has a wide range of application in the field of electric conductors, organicsemiconductors and electrode materials. Low-dimensional PEDOTattracted more attention due to its excellent optical and electricalproperties.In this thesis, the nanostructured PEDOT was prepared by theemulsion polymerization, and its morphology was characterized byScanning Electron Spectroscopy. By inverse emulsion polymerizationlow dimension PEDOT were prepared based on AOT as the emulsifier,FeCl3as the oxidant. Effect of the three-phase proportion(AOT/hexane/aqueous solution), the concentration of FeCl3, temperature,and ultrasonicated dispersion on the PEDOT morphology wasinvestigated. With the increase of AOT, the morphology of PEDOTwould be the nanotubes, but the AOT continues to increase it will becomenanospheres. In the other, low dimension PEDOT was prepared byemulsion polymerization used SDBS as the emulsifier, Na2S2O8as theoxidant and n-hexane as oil phase. When the ratio of hexane to water is 1/4, the quality of SDBS is1.00g and Na2S2O8is0.1626g, polymerizationtemperature of60℃, PEDOT regular nanorods were obtained whilePEDOT form nanospheres were got when the ratio of hexane to water is1/8.RTS-8four-probe tester was used to measure the conductivity ofPEDOT. The results shown that the highest is from PEDOT nanospheres,followed by the nanorods, and mixture of nanospheres and nanorodshas the lowest conductivity. meanwhile, the larger the size of thenanosphere, the higher its conductivity.
